At the end of the draw for the final phase of the FIFAe Club World Cup ™, the 42 competing teams, composed of two players each, now know the opponents to be defeated on the way to victory. The most prestigious FIFAe club competition, played on EA SPORTS FIFA 21, will see the world’s top eSports competing for a share of the $ 350,000 prize.

The clubs will start their campaign in the group stage on 24 February. The top two teams from each of the six zones will continue their journey into the finals weekend with the hope of being crowned 2021 FIFAe Club World Cup champions in their zone. Conscious of having victory at their fingertips, the gamers also know that team spirit will play a crucial role in their success.

This will be the first in a series of FIFAe tournaments this year, with FIFA continuing to invest in the development of a new niche of eSports dedicated to future generations. 480 teams from around the world took part in the four-week online qualifiers. This is an increase of 150% from last year, a testament to the huge interest from clubs and the virtual football community.

Besides the increased participation, the level has never been higher, which guarantees electric confrontations. If the fans love nothing so much that seeing their favorite playing against their opponents, in the end, it is the team, not the individuals, who conquer the title. The same is true in this competition where elite players work in tandem and will have to show their best to cap the crown.

Some of the biggest clubs in the eFootball scene, such as record-holder Manchester City, and defending champion Complexity Gaming, will fight to bring their club’s colors to the fore and raise its profile.

The new hashtag #FameYourGame complements FIFA’s ambition to ensure that all players on its competitive circuit have the support they need to earn a place as a global star.

“In a few days, the young gamers the most talented in the world will challenge each other to create the history of their club. Be sure to log in so you don’t lose anything from the FIFAe Club World Cup ™, ”comments Christian Volk, director of the FIFA eFootball and Gaming sub-division.

All matches up to the knockout stage, February 24-26, will be available on FIFA.gg. Provided remotely from London, the broadcast will begin at 4.30 p.m. CET on February 26. FIFA’s newly created “watch together” feature allows friends to watch games together as if they were in the same room.

Aspiring commentators will also have the opportunity to take part in the FIFAe Club World Cup ™ this year. A team of reporters will be assigned to each area to comment on the matches live.

Two other major FIFA 21 competitions organized by FIFA will take place later this year, the FIFAe World Cup ™ and the FIFAe Nations Cup ™. The leading players in the discipline will battle it out in the first, while the second will pit the best nations on the planet against each other.
