Given the travel and quarantine restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic on the continent and following a process of close consultation with member associations in Asia, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and FIFA jointly decided to postpone most of the upcoming Asian qualifying matches for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar ™ and the 2023 AFC China PR Asian Cup ™.

Here is the latest schedule for Days 7 and 8 of Round 2 of preliminary joint qualifying for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 ™ and AFC Asian Cup PR China 2023 ™, which will take place March 25 and 30, 2021:

FIFA and AFC continue to place the highest priority on the health and safety of players, teams, match officials and all stakeholders and will work together with their member associations to closely monitor the developments in the region.

As part of the effort to ensure the success and security of the Asian qualifiers, AFC will invite member associations to host their respective groups in a centralized format. It will confirm and communicate in due course the schedule of matches for the international window of June 2021, where the matches of these centralized qualifications are currently scheduled to take place from May 31 to June 15, 2021.
