While the UEFA preliminary draw for the 2022 FIFA World Cup ™ fast approaching, the FIFA Legends Daniele De Rossi and Rafael van der Vaart have been appointed assistants at the ceremony in Zurich on December 7 at 6:00 p.m. (CET).
Member of the Italy team crowned world champion in 2006, De Rossi also took part in the 2010 and 2014 editions of football’s flagship competition over a career that has seen him wear the jersey azurrro 117 times. A true icon of AS Rome, the midfielder has also played in the colors of Boca Juniors.
As for the former Dutch international, who has 109 capes with the Orange, he discovered the FIFA World Cup ™ in 2006 and played in the final of the following edition, four years later in South Africa. During his rich career, Van der Vaart has campaigned for several top clubs including Ajax, Hamburg, Real Madrid, Betis and Tottenham.
“All players dream of playing at a World Cup and waving this iconic trophy. On Monday, this dream will take a little more depth for the 55 European teams, who will discover the route likely to lead them to the World Cup 2022 “, comments De Rossi.
