The countdown to the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 ™ hit a milestone this Tuesday, April 27 with the official draw for the tournament, which you could follow live from 9:00 p.m. local time (8:00 p.m. CET).

Four FIFA Legends were there to secure the draw, namely Wael Gomaa (Egypt), Nawaf Al Temyat (Saudi Arabia), Haytham Mustafa (Sudan) and Younus Mahmood (Iraq). FIFA Competitions Director Manolo Zubiria was also present.

A total of 23 teams will participate in the competition. The 14 lowest-ranked teams in the April edition of the FIFA / Coca-Cola World Ranking will play in seven knockout matches.

The FIFA Arab Cup ™ will serve as a full-scale test for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. The two tournaments will take place at the same time, with the final exactly one year apart – on December 18 .
